Collins, Charles "Charley" Michael LCDR, USCG (Ret.) 64, Left us suddenly to join his loving wife of 33 years, the late Jeanne C. Collins. Charley graduated St. Pius X High school in Atlanta, GA before joining the U.S. Air force, where he served 4 years during the Vietnam War. After leaving the Air Force, Charley returned to Atlanta and later joined the United States Coast Guard as an Electrician's Mate and rose to the rank' of Lieutenant Commander. While training for the Coast Guard in Cape May he fell in love with Jeanne. After honorably serving 30 years in the military, Charley worked for the Delaware River and Bay Authority as a Marine Electrician where he' retired after ten years. He enjoyed time with his family, traveling in his motor home and long walks with his faithful four-legged companion Chloe. Charley was Past Master of Cape Island Lodge #30 F & AM. Charley is survived by his daughter Jeanne Michelle Flitcroft and husband AI of Lower Township, son Darcy Joseph Collins, Chief Machinery Technician USCG and wife Cathy of Hawaii, a sister, Harriett Jo Fuller of Atlanta, GA and brothers Lawrence Collins of Alto, GA and James Collins of Jacksonville, GA. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Stephen Edward Flitcroft and his wife Celiese, Brian Michael Flitcroft, Interior Communications Electrician Firemen Apprentice USN, Douglas Andrew Flitcroft and Brandon Charles Collins and a great grandchild, Emma Noelle Flitcroft. Charley was an accomplished man who will be sorely missed by his family and many friends. Visitation will be November 17, 2009 at 9:30 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Road, North Cape May, NJ, with services to follow at 11 am at St. John of God RC Church, Townbank Road, North Cape May, NJ. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Charley and Jeanne's name to the Susan G.Komen Cancer Fund, , 2 Princess Road, Suite D, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.are requested
