How can one put their thoughts of their father into a short statement. I could write a book on it easier. My father was similar to John Wayne in that he was a larger than life superman.I saw him fix things, lift things, and solve problems most people wound never try to.Because of him I have the attitude that I can fix, build, or solve most problems. He taught me that, not in words, just by doing. My father was loyal & totally believed in me, and for that I tried to be there every possible minute I could for the last 5 years of his life when he needed help.My father changed a large transmission in his small house's garage without any lift of jack at all.He saved a fishing party boat by himself and maybe 30+ people. He was the most honest & best mechanic of his time, the only customer he ever cheated was himself( by giving too much to try & help a customer). He loved to fish & my happiest memories are the many many fishing trips we took every weekend. My father was gruff at times & maybe too direct for some. But to me that made him more endearing.i always knew where he stood because he told me(what you see is what you got)i like honesty and that is what everyone got with my father.I will end this lest I go on forever. I miss you dad & still cannot believe I will not be able to take you back home which you so wanted, & I so tried to make happen. Please forgive me for not being able to do that.

I will miss my Grandpop more then he could possibly know.
He taught me so much and I will never forget him, he left an impression on everyone who has ever had the good fortune to have known him.
