"A man's spirit sustains him in his infirmity ..." (Proverbs 18:14a) For all the afflictions Bob endured in his life, he was rarely down about them. He stayed active and involved as long as he could as a leader with the outdoorsy boys' group of the Assemblies of God, The Royal Rangers, and as a teacher of his young Sunday school class.
As he got older the afflictions worsened, slowly wearing him down. Yet, he consistently maintained a positive outlook for which he credited the Lord Jesus who strengthened him. I'll miss visiting with him and talking with him on the phone. I suppose if we could hear him today, he'd likely say, "For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain." (Philippians 1:21)

He was an awesome Royal Rangers commander. He made our childhood fun. Loved camping with him. He always out ran us. He's running in heaven now. Praise God.
