Dear Susan
I want to express to you, my sympathy for the loss of your husband. I walk my little dog through the neighborhood and although I never met you, I admired the loving care you put into your home and thought what a beautiful lady you must be to have put so much thought into making your home so comforting and safe for your husband. I came by in May with some produce from my garden, which I shared with your husband
Fred who was so jolly and friendly.
I was very sad to hear that he had passed and my heart breaks for you.
I hope you will find comfort in knowing he is with our Beloved Father who is very near and watching over you. I’ll be stopping by from time to time with some goodies to share with you.
Sincerely,
Susanne

I am very saddened to hear of Fred's passing. As a former neighbor and fellow exchange student host, I spent quite a bit of time with Mimi Sue and Pop. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.

Mr. Hofstetter was always such a nice, kind man. He was very welcoming to my brother Michael and myself. He was always there with a kind word, encouragement, and good advice. He was a very intelligent and interesting person. He was a wonderful Husband, Father, Neighbor, and a good friend. He flew the biggest and most beautiful American flag on our street. It was always a pleasure to talk to and spend time with Mr. Hofstetter. He was one of a kind and will be sorely missed. May he rest in peace.
