My mother-in-law was a child of god with unwavering faith. She taught her children to lean on one another and to never turn to anger. She taught her grandchildren that family togetherness at the shore house is good for the soul. She taught me that I was given amazing strength to be a mother of 5 boys and to be married to her son. You will never be forgotten and always loved!

First off, my family and I would like to thank all of you for your love, thoughts, prayers, and condolences
during this difficult time.
We are gathered here today to lay to rest Regina Crawford Bennett... MY MOM, and matriarch of our
Bennett tribe. Regina was born on May 18 th , 1955, to James and Regina Crawford in Delaware county.
She was the first girl in the family and number 5 of 7 children. After four boys Jim, John, Chuck, and Tom.
Regina and James finally had a baby girl in the house. Gina went to school at St. George’s for grade
school and Archbishop Prendergast for high school. She was a devoted Catholic and a child of the Lord.
In September 1976 she married the love of her life, MY DAD, Mike Bennett, and they have been married
for the past 46 years. They had 4 children Regina, Sean, Daniel, and Michelle and 12 grandchildren Nick,
Jon, Alex, Chris, William, Brad, JJ, Ally, Mikey, Emily, Ryan, and Dani. She was our GiGi, our mom-mom.
She loved nothing more than having all her grandchildren at her house on 102 Bay Ave. in Villas, NJ and
watching them play and grow. Villas was her home, she loved the beach, the bay, the ocean, her friends,
and her community. Many times she would meet us on the porch and listen to whatever was going on in
our lives. She was a great listener! She would and has literally given the shirt off her back to help those in
need.
My mom was a caretaker in some sort of fashion her whole life. From helping to take care of her younger
siblings Anna and Joe, to taking care of her own four children. As young children my sisters, brother, and
I were always bringing home friends and cousins to play at our house. My mom was never dismissive
when new friends came over, in fact the opposite, she took care of all of them as if they were her own
children. Many of them grew up feeling as if she was their second mom. I know some of those people
are with us today (sorry there are too many to mention right now but you know who you are). My mom
always used to say the more the merrier! She showed us all what it took to be family. She helped take
care of her mother and father in their golden years and continued that caretaker mentality helping Uncle
Ernie and Aunt Sue in their golden years. Finally, she was a Eucharistic minister and took care of those in
the Villas community that could not make it to mass to receive communion.
Mom, you have done enough caretaking of us and now it is time for us to take care of you!
My mom was a strong woman. Strongest, I ever known. She put her faith in if she devoted her life to
doing God’s will that Jesus would watch over her and show her the way through any obstacle that life
presented. She battled her cancer for the better part of the past decade. The whole time taking on any
challenges and putting others needs ahead of her own.
You know my mom always told me, Dan, when the Lord comes calling... I will answer his call! Well mom,
the Lord must have really needed another angel in heaven as he called for you to soon. My only comfort
is that you are no longer in pain or suffering. There will be no more medications, no more needles, no
more treatments, no more chemo, no more surgeries. You can rest easy now and know that the love and
support you have given all of us, we will pass forward to our friends and family.
I know you are in heaven now having a grand old time playing cards with Mom-Mom Betty, and Aunt
Kathy or enjoying tea with Grandmom and Grandpop Crawford. Please give our love to all of those that
are up there with you. I know they are ecstatic to see you again!
Mom, the girls, and I will miss you every day and we will cherish the thought of when we will be together
again in each other’s arms!

Mike and Gina's wedding was the first wedding I ever went to. I was about seven, and wanted to see the bride, my mom Carol and Harry and dad told me and my sister we could sit in the back of the church. Gina was such a beautiful bride and for the longest time was the image of a bride. Dani Taylor

The first time our families meet, Donna and Dan became friends quickly in Kindergarten. Donna went over for a lunch date and when i picked her up she was on the porch with Sean because Dan left for a friends house. 20 years later Donna and Sean married and Gina, Mike, Tom, and I have been blessed to to be friends and family. I have been trying to think about what to say about Gina. 1st & foremost my deepest sympathy to Michael & family. I loved Gina. She was always an inspiration to me. A kind, loving person but I admired her most as a committed, faithful Catholic who loved our Lord. She was the person I wanted to be in faith. We were Eucharist Ministers together. We shared health issues together. I pray that I inspired her as she always inspired me. I miss her so much but she is forever in my heart.
