Wonderful Mrs. Buonopane. She was amazing! Very kind, generous with her time, and considerate. She prayed for me and, I am sure, she is praying for her family and friends up in heaven.
Excellent cook and baker. We had great conversations on the phone. We discussed her earlier days, how she met her husband Tony, Upper Darby neighbors and friends, St. Alice’s, etc. She was always involved with everyone’s life.
I am Carol Jean (Grillo) Reynolds. I grew up in Upper Darby, PA. Ruthee Buonopane, Sally (Dunn) Barbera and I were friends. Mrs. Buonopane was our Brownie and Girl Scout Leader. We lived one street apart and I got together with Ruthee and Sally a lot at the Buonopane House, the corner store on Kent Road, Gimbels, the bowling alley, etc.
I will miss her tremendously. We kept in touch over the years. That is amazing in this world. I remember calling her for her 98th birthday and she said, “Looking forward to my 100th Birthday.”
