Our challenged and challenging students at Ferris School were lucky to have Ms. Schacht as their Language Arts teacher. A goal that she wanted every one of her below-grade-level readers to achieve was to advance their reading levels by at least three grades during their six months to one year stay. Due to her great skill and tireless efforts, the vast majority did that and more.
As the other LA teacher at Ferris during her tenure there, I often sought her advice regarding lesson plans and methodology. Judy was always helpful and encouraging. I admired her.
