Please share a memory of Colleen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Colleen P. Ritchie, "Mrs. C", 65, North Cape May, joined our Heavenly Father on December 5, 2022. Colleen was an extraordinary woman who touched the lives of those she met. She gave with all of her heart and never expected anything in return. She valued her time with her friends and most importantly her family who no matter what meant the world to her. Colleen was the youngest of 8 children to the late Francis and Helen (Townsend) Hart. She resided in Cedars, Pa until the age of 7 when her parents and her brother Kevin moved to North Cape May in 1964. Colleen went on to graduate from St. Raymond's grade school and Wildwood Catholic High School (Class of 1975). During and after high school Colleen worked for Tom Cowen at the Cape May Lewes Ferry which was a job so very near and dear to her heart. It was that job that instilled the love of Lewes, Delaware in her and riding the boats. Colleen went on to also work at Anchor Bank, Lower Township Rescue Squad, and as a receptionist for Dr. Clayton Carr. While Colleen loved each job she had it would be the jobs she took at her children's school that she loved the most. Colleen could always be found at St. Raymond's as a room mom, a substitute teacher, a lunch lady, a chaperone, the gym teacher or just helping the school in any way they needed. She loved participating and helping every year with the annual Christmas Bazaar and could be found helping with any school event throughout the year. Her love and dedication to the school and students still radiates to this day. After working in the school Colleen found a new love of driving school busses for Coast Cities/Laidlaw and later managed the Cape May location for Sheppard Bus services. After being out of work due to an illness Colleen returned to work managing Donna's Hallmark Store on the Washington Street Mall. Not only did she enjoy every moment of it but she grew to love the new friendships she made with the other mall employees and her boss Steve and his family. Despite the many health issues that she faced Colleen loved being out and about taking rides, fishing with her husband, children, grandchildren and friends, and making many trips to Delaware. Colleen is survived by her children Robert (Linsey) Campbell Jr. and Doreen Campbell, her grandchildren Ashlie (Ryan) Campbell, Brianna (Dan) Campbell, Emma Campbell, Addison Campbell, and Lance (John) Aldridge, her brothers Richard (Dolores) Hart and Kevin Hart, many many nieces, nephews, and cousins, and loved ones who were like family to her and like adopted children to her including Jason Garrison, Krystal (Ian) Garrison, Michael Celinski (and family), Alannah Baker, Brittani Roach and Penny Costanzo (and family) along with many others. Colleen is also survived by her beloved pups Prince and Sweethart who watched her every move and loved sitting with her. Colleen is preceded in death by her husband of 25 years William Ritchie Sr, her baby daughter Angel Marie, her brothers Francis Hart, Michael Hart and Joseph Hart, her sisters Helen Wilson and Betty Anne Aquilante and many other cherished friends and family members. A private viewing and memorial was held for immediate family only. A public Celebration of Colleen's life will be held on February 25, 2023 at 11am at Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Road, North Cape May NJ 08204.
