Samuel J Gowen, age 78, of Cape May passed away Friday, November 29, 2013 at Cape Regional Medical Center. Samuel was born March 31, 1935 in Pennsylvania and was formerly of Norristown, PA; but has been a Cape May area resident for over 20 years. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. Samuel was a Rigger for the Philadelphia Electric Company, retiring after 35 years of service. He enjoyed fishing and owned his own boats: the Hawk Eye I & the Hawk Eye II. Samuel was a member of the Cape May VFW, loved tending to his flower garden, and enjoyed his pets - especially his dog "Bruno" and his pet seagull "George". He is survived by his wife Emma "Vivian" Gowen; his two daughters: Judy & Shawn; his sister Marge; and his 4 grandchildren. Funeral services will be private.
