Obituary of Mary Letizio

Please share a memory of Mary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mary was one of 10 children born into the Prodoehl family in Philadelphia. She and her husband Barry raised a family of 6 children in East Falls and later lived in Fort Washington and Warminster, PA. Mary attended St. Veronica's School at 6th and Tioga and later graduated from Peirce Business School in Philadelphia. As a teenager, she worked at the local soda fountain and was later employed by Sears and other retailers. She retired after 25 years as a claims examiner at Hatboro Employment Security. During her years at home, Mary was a devoted mother who guided her children through Catholic school and provided a solid foundation of core values. While raising her children, she started a successful Tupperware business with her husband and brother-in-law, Mike. Summers were spent having fun at the beach where the family roomed at Fred and Nancy's on Spicer Avenue in Wildwood. Along with her sister Pat and family, they spent days at the beach till sundown. Mary never outgrew her love of the shore so it's no surprise she and Barry made their way to North Cape May for retirement. There they found a life filled with many wonderful friends and activities. For many years, Mary served Sunday breakfast as part of the Knights of Columbus auxiliary alongside Barry. They travelled far and wide with North Cape May Seniors and Sons of Italy, but her favorite was the monthly casino trip. Mary's 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren were the light of her life. Where better to entertain kids than a house at the shore. Never one to shy away from learning new tricks, Mary FaceTimed with those who couldn't visit. She was at her happiest playing games and sharing laughs with the littlest ones. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Barry in 2015. She is survived by all her children: Barry and Lisa, Steven, Joan and Rich Hepp, Anne, Michele, Thomas and Reen; her grandchildren Jennifer, Jonathan, Kelsey, Steven, Robert, Andrew, Melissa, Caroline, Jason, Rachael, Heather, Adrienne, Kimberly, Taylor, and Nicholas, 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:45am on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at St. John Neumman Parish, St. John of God Church, 680 Townbank Rd, N Cape May; friends may call prior to service from 9:30am to 10:45am. Interment will be held at 11am on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Washington's Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA. Condolences can be shared at www.EvoyFuneralHome.com.
