Joe was one of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet. I was the police dispatcher on SW band when he was in the 18th district, I came to know him off the job, and always thought what a great guy he was whenever you were in his company. So sorry to hear of his passing, my deepest sympathy to his family.

I was so sorry to hear of Joe's passing. I had the pleasure of working with him in Police Radio for a number of years and stayed in touch when he went to Mobile Communications. Joe was a genuinely nice guy of whom I think it could truely be said that he would give you the shirt off his back. I frequently saw Joe do kind things for others, whether it was bringing into work some of his baseball cards for a co-workers son or lending his car to a co-worker. I'm sure Joe never saw these kind gestures as a big deal....that was Joe. I don't know that I would ever have been promoted to sgt without Joe's help. Although I have not had the good fortune to see Joe since he retired, I will miss him none the less. The next time I have a Philly soft pretzel I will think of Joe making the pretzel run and bringing back pretzels for his many friends in Police Hdqt. My most sincere condolences to Joe's friends and family.

Words cannot express the deep sorrow we share. Joe was such a loving and caring person. I so loved listening to his stories. Sometimes the same one over and over. We lost more than a dear friend, we lost our Nephew. God bless your soul Joe.

Mel and The McTamany's
Our memories of Joe will always bring a Smile to our Faces
and a laugh in our Hearts. You two really made us feel welcomed
when we got together for the Good Times. As the old Man (Father Murphy)
of Class 258, I thought of Joe like a younger Brother. Class 258 has
quite a few fond memories of Joe. When thinking of Joe, remember the
Good Times and Smile.
Your Friends Forever, Don & Carol Murphy

Joe has touched our lives in just the short time we have known him. A sweet gentle giant. I had to go out a buy a Tide Stick since he kept one with him alway. He left us far too early, he will be missed!
