McKENNA, Joseph Maximillian, Sr "Mac", age 84, died at his summer home in N Cape May due to a long illness, having been a bladder cancer survivor for more than 20 years. Former Director Carbon County, PA Rural Transportation System. Retired caseworker for Carbon County Assistance, DPW, Jim Thorpe, PA. Survived by spouse Meridel "Del" Rooney McKenna of 45 years; son Joseph Maximillian, Jr, "Mickey" (and wife Anne): daughter Lynnda McKenna Riederer all of Cape May, grandchildren Maxime and Louise McKenna and Kirsten Sanders and Ryan Riederer; Step-daughter Kathleen Rooney of Jim Thorpe, PA and step-son Timothy Rooney of Mustang, OK. Predeceased in death by brother Richard S McKenna, and step-son James P Rooney. In lieu of flowers family would appreciate donations to Shriners' Children Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Saturday May 5, 2018 at the Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, 1220 Bayshore Rd., Villas where relatives and friends may call from 9:30 to 11:00 am.
