Obituary of Francis E. Penrose

Francis E. Penrose, "Ed Frank" "Rackie" age 71, of Cape May Court House passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018. Rackie was born September 25, 1946 in Darby, PA and raised in Holmes PA. He is the son of the late Francis W. and the late Helen (Cavanaugh) Penrose. Rackie has lived in the Cape May area for over 40 years. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He had been the owner-operator of Rabbit Run Lawn Ornaments in Green Creek and also formerly had worked for Abbott's Dairy in Wildwood, Charles Chips and was a mailman in Broomall, PA. Rackie was an avid Philadelphia sports fan especially the Phila. Eagles. He was preceded in death by two brothers Billy and Larry. He is survived by a companion Deborah Wheat; two children, Maureen (Richard) Sandman and Frank (Megan Fleck-Penrose) Penrose; step children, Melissa McCullough and Dr. Tara (Charlie) Vodges; eight siblings, Kathy (Michael), Eddie (Kathy), Alice, Mary Ellen (Quincy), Margie (Phil), Joey (Kathy), Jimmy (Cheryl), Theresa and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, six grandchildren, Michael Shaffer, Kayleigh Sandman, Ricky Sandman, Sarah Sandman, Shane Penrose, Gracyn Penrose; step grandchildren, Erin, Patric, Tara Ann, Konor and Matthew, and his best friend and buddy Clay Simmons. A viewing is scheduled from 9:30am – 10:30am on Monday, January 22, 2018 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Road, N Cape May; a service will begin at 10:30am.
