John J "Jack" Powers, age 56, of North Cape May passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Cape Regional Med. Center. Born in Philadelphia and formerly of Yeadon, PA; he has been a Cape May area resident for 40 years. Jack was a graduate of Devon Prep in Wayne, PA. He was a self employed General Contractor. Jack enjoyed playing golf and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 33 years Rita (nee Unkelbach) Powers; his parents John & Frances Powers of Cold Spring, NJ; his son Jack Powers of Cape May; and his sister France (Mark) Gilmour of Mickleton, NJ. There will be a funeral service at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 12, 2013 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at St Mary's Cemetery, 1056 Seashore Rd, Cold Spring, NJ 08204. The family suggests donations in John's memory to the Love of Linda Cancer Fund, PO Box 1053, Wildwood, NJ 08260.
