Joseph M Moke, age 91, of Villas passed away Sunday, October 22, 2017 at HCR Manor Care of West Deptford, NJ. Joseph was born January 24, 1926 in Philadelphia, PA. He is the son of the late Martin and the late Margaret (Gaghan) Moke. Joseph served his country in the US Marines during World War II. He served with the Marine Corps 4th Marine Division and received a Purple Heart when wounded in the Battle of Iwo Jima. Joseph was employed by Smith-Edwards-Dunlap, Philadelphia, PA as a Bookbinder. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3546 of Erma where he was a past Grand Knight. Joseph also belonged to the DAV Chapter 44 of Del Haven, was a Friend of the World War II Lookout Tower, was a member of the Good Samaritans, the Villas VFW and the American Legion Post 0198 of Villas. He was a member of the Parish of St John Neumann where he was a volunteer at St Raymond's RC Church. Joseph was preceded in death by his wives: Margaret (nee McGrory) Moke and Mary (nee Reilly) Moke; his son Joseph Moke; and his daughter Patti Ketterlinus. He is survived by his daughters: Maryann (John) Perrino, Carol Murphy, & Theresa (George) Hatton. Joseph also leaves many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at the Parish of St John Neumann, St John of God RC Church, 680 Townbank Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Cape May County Veteran's Cemetery, 127 Crest Haven Rd, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Joseph's memory to the Heartland Hospice Memorial Fund, 353 N Summit St, PO Box 10086, Toledo, OH 43699-0086.
