Loved your father and his really funny sense of humor! He was a great man and leaves behind 3 daughters who are as beautiful inside as they are outside. AND just as crazy a sense of humor as he had! What a beautiful service yesterday. He is smiling, I'm sure...and hopefully eating Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream with milk! RIP, Joe!

I am so sorry for your loss - last year my mother died at 91 and I know that no matter what the age, the loss is painful. I remember your father well and how much he was liked by all of us and all of his neighbors.

Mr. Moke was an old school guy: kind, dedicated, loyal, a true patriot, and most of all a real gentleman. I have known him over the years in my role as a teacher at St. Raymond's/Star of the Sea (where Joe would volunteer to speak of his war experiences), as an elected official (where Joe and I would end up at many of the same events), but more than anything as a friend. Many times, Joe, myself, and Tom Glynn (Joe's lifelong friend), and others, would have our little breakfast meetings where we would solve all the world's problems over pancakes and coffee. At least we always thought so.
My condolences to the family. We all share your loss and will remember Mr. Moke to the Lord. He and Peg were fixtures in the community. Whether it's the kids from St. Rays who remember him as the ice cream man on Field Day at school, the people at bingo who saw the friendliest volunteer ever, or the guy at every veteran meeting and ceremony, we all will miss him and know the Good Lord is taking care of him.
God bless Mr. Moke and his family
