Pop, I can still remember my playful moments with you as if they were yesterday. You asking me to put my hand out so you could give me a surprise for me only to open my eyes to a handful of cigar ashes. I fell for this every time as your way of convincing me to go through with it got stronger and better each time. Another silly common joke would be you telling us kids to dig the bullet out of your foot. You always had a different story as to how the bullet got in your foot when you were a soldier. This one took me years to realize it wasn’t true and just a bunion. I guess I wasn’t the brightest grandchild at that time --- thank God that’s not the case now; you’d be proud. Pop, my memories with you might have slowed down as years went on. Please know I am grateful for the times I did share with you and always wished there could have been more. You knew how to light up a room and put a smile on so many faces. You were a fun loving charismatic man and I am sure all those above are being entertained by you!!!! Until we meet again.
