Obituary of Bette Babore-Ulasevich

Please share a memory of Bette to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Bette Babore-Ulasevich, age 95, of Cape May, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Cape Regional Medical Center. Bette was born in Cape May Court House and has been a life-long area resident. She is the daughter of the late Harry and the late Myrtle (Willis) Bakley. Bette was a Claims Examiner for the State of New Jersey Employment Office retiring after 35 years of service. She was always active and enjoyed life to the max. Bette was even a pin-up girl for Yank Magazine in 1943. An entertainer from an early age, she loved to be center stage singing on the radio with Lucielle Ball and dancing with her sister Jean. Bette started the West Cape May King & Queen Coronation in the early 1960's and the initiation of the Big Wheel Bike Club - an organization to guide children down the right path and to provide a vehicle for philanthropy to charitable organizations. She was her sons' strongest advocate and fan. During the time her boys played sports, Bette could be found in the stands arguing with the officials and embarrassing the hell out of her sons; but always there to kiss a Boo Boo. After the passing of her husband George Ulasevich (the love of her life), she became active in many different organizations finding many new friends and becoming re-acquainted with some old ones. Bette became active in the Sons of Italy and the Spirit Players. The Spirit Players gave Bette the opportunity to be on stage whether it was by singing, dancing or most recently stand-up comedy. Bette will be missed by all for her spark and for following the words of the Dalai Lama "Our purpose in this life is to help others and if you can't help them don't hurt them." She was preceded in death by her husband Pete, her husband George, her parents, her brothers: Harry, Samuel, and Socrates, and her sisters: Helena, Jean, and Frances. Bette is survived by her sons: Peter "Pug" Babore & Keith "Doc" Babore (Anna); and her brother Ralph (Barbara) Bakley. Also surviving are her 6 grandchildren: Pete (Andrea) Babore, Jill (Michael) Babore-Turco, Michael (Kristy) Babore, Anthony Babore, Kristina Babore, & Francesca Babore; and her 5 great grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews. There will be a funeral service at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:30 AM. Interment will be private. The family suggests donations in Bette's memory to Cape Regional Medical Center, Stone Harbor Blvd, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.
