I first met Bette at the WW Unemployment office, then we waitressed together at the Lobster House. We were both on the L.H. soft ball team...boy, did we have fun! We became such good and close friends during this time. She worked for my dad when he was a chef...she thought the world of my dad! I had so many great times with Bette! I can still see her chewing the 'hell' out of gum! she was always chewing gum while waitressing! I recall one time Bette chasing after a customer and throwing the three pennies he left as a tip saying, 'here, you need it more than me'. She was quick on her feet and quick with wit! I met and come to know her son Doc in x-ray...those were the days with Drs Wilner and Podolnick! Then, I met her son Pug...oh, what a night! I am so sorry to all your family for such a loss! Bette was one of a kind. I always admired her.

Met Betty through my son, Joe, who transported her to and from treatments at Cape Regional. It was always a pleasure to visit with her with Joe and to hear her many stories from years ago. She was always the entertainer and was a blessing to those who knew her.

I still expect the phone to ring and Aunt Bette be on it. We would talk and she always ended with "that's all that is going on here". This has been a part of my life on almost a daily basis. it did not matter what particular problem was evident that day. She would always reassure me that every thing would work out. She was always telling me that she prayed for me, Tony and Alex every night. She never hesitated to speak her mind.
I realize that at 95 Aunt Bette lived a long wonderful life. However, although her body was aging her spirit never did.
I miss her.
