Obituary of Anne M Purvis

Anne Purvis, age 85, of Villas passed away peacefully Monday, August 10, 2015 at her home. Anne was the daughter of George & Anna Purvis (Ward). Born August 24, 1929 in Philadelphia, she is the sister of George & James, sister-in-law of Rose & Rosemary, aunt and fondly known as the "Great AA" of Michael (Melissa), Kathleen, Erin (deceased), Sean (Lisa), Gregory, Lori Ann, Jeffery (Debbie), & Sharon Rose. Anne attended St Ambrose and graduated from Little Flower High School; in Philadelphia. She was a long time employee of Bell Telephone of Philadelphia and of AT&T. Anne started as an operator, was a supervisor, and at retirement was the Traffic Manager & Instructor throughout PA. She was a member of the Pioneers and also the Red Hats of Cape May County. Anne was the great aunt of Lindsey Anne, Brendan, Dylan, Annabelle, Aidan, Noah, Megan, Jonathan, Matthew, Andrew, & Gregory (deceased). She was a great reader, especially of mysteries, and loved the feel of a book in her hands. Anne had a special love for her dogs: Duke & Gypsy. She moved to Villas in 2002 and was a member of St Raymond's RC Church. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 14, 2015 at the Parish of St John Neumann, St Raymond's RC Church, Ocean & Bayshore Rd, Villas, NJ 08251; where friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at St Mary's Cemetery, 1056 Seashore Rd, Cold Spring, NJ 08204.
