Harold J Wilson, 70, of Cape May Court House passed away on Friday, July 20, 2012 at Victoria Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in the Bronx, NY and formerly of Whippany, NJ; he has been a Cape May area resident since 2000. Harold was a Postal Clerk at the East Hanover, NJ Post Office; a special reserve police officer in East Hanover, NJ for 11 years; and a special reserve police officer in Mt Arlington, NJ for 2 years. He served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam era. He was a member of the DAV in Del Haven, and Amigo Director for Parents Without Partners Parsippany Chapter in Parsippany, NJ. Harold is survived by his wife of 11 years Kathleen; his daughter Mary (Aaron) Newman of Hoboken, NJ; his stepson Adam (Wendy) Gismondi of Matawan, NJ; and his stepdaughter Melissa Gismondi of Parsippany, NJ. He was the proud "Pop Pop" of Madeline Grace Newman (5 yrs old) and of Joanna May Gismondi (3 months old). Also surviving are: his brother Jack (Angela) Wilson of North Babylon, NY; his brother Walter (Phyliss) Wilson of Bohemia, NY; and his sister Patricia (Fran) MacIsaac of Spotswood, NJ; many nieces; nephews; great nieces; and great nephews. Harold was preceded in death by his mother Helen Boyle Gillen, his father John Gillen, his sister Sally Burdick, his niece Doreen MacIsaac Webster, and two infant twin daughters. Please join Kathy Wilson and family promptly at 6 PM on Thursday, July 26, 2012 for a Memorial Ceremony and Butterfly Release to honor the life of Harold Wilson. Meet at the Gazebo at Columbine and the beach in Wildwood Crest, NJ. The celebration will continue from 7 - 9 PM at the Sunset Lounge at the Cape May Ferry Terminal with dinner, tears, and laughter. Flowers should be sent to the Sunset Lounge. Contributions can be made to the Harry Wilson Memorial Gazebo Fund for the family home or to Same Day Surgey, Cape Regional Hospital, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.
