Joseph T Cook, age 74, of Rio Grande passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Cape Regional Medical Center. Born in Buffalo, NY; he has been a Cape May area resident for many years. Joseph was a retired Chief Warren Officer in the US Coast Guard serving 33 years. He was the owner/operator of the Fish Factory in Wildwood Crest. Joseph was married for 47 years to Jeannine Cook until her passing in 2004. He is survived by his son Joseph T (Jacqueline) Cook Jr. of Cape May; his daughter Donna (Lou) Russo of Erma; and his daughter Crystal Cook of Rio Grande. Also surviving are his brother Eugene (Helga) Cook of FL; his sister-in-law Mad; 8 grandchildren: Joanne, Jennifer (Jim), Jeannette, Sharon (Michael), Jessica, Joey, Joe III, & Tom; and 6 great grandchildren: Brandon, Diana, Zachary, Trey, Aaden, & Olivia. Joseph was preceded in death by his brother Donald Cook. There will be a funeral service at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204 where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow the service at Cape May County Veteran's Cemetery, 127 Crest Haven Rd, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.
