Mrs. Imler and family, My condolences to you and yours at this most difficult time. I had the distinct pleasure of working for and with Bob on two occasions during my career with the Coast Guard. I worked directly for Bob at EECEN from 1990 to 1995 as his commercial repair chief. My desk was only 15 feet from his office door and because of that proximity to Bob and his willingness to pass on his vast knowledge to those of us that would listen, I became a better CG member, Chief Petty Officer, and caring person. I will always remember him as one of my few mentors and teachers and only wish that I had even a small portion of Bob's wonderful and lasting affect on the service and people around him. May God Bless and Keep You.

My heart felt condolences Joseph, Pete and Margaret. I was stationed with Bob at the electronic center (EECEN). I have many good memories and a few stories of the times over at EECEN with Mr. Imler. I last saw Bob about six weeks ago in the Hardware store where I work. His body may have been failing but his wit and his wonderful dry sense of humor was as sharp as ever. Mr. Imler thank you for your guidence, Your friendship. -- The LORAN day has ended; Memories remain..

I only knew Bob thru the Coast Guard. He was legendary, anyone in electronics support knew Bob's name, and, if they were lucky, knew him personally. He was one of a kind.
