Dave was a solid friend and always had a smile for everyone. I still have very clear memories of Dave from our Academy days in Bravo Company. My condolences to all his family.

Always a smile. Probably the most even tempered person I ever knew. His kindness and generosity will be missed.

The fact that you can have warm, positive memories of some one after over 50 years (Dave was my roommate the first year at the Coast Guard Academy) is strong testament to what a special person he was.

I didn't see much of Dave after Academy days, but my memory of him is bright because he was one of the really good guys. Dave always had a good word.

God rest your soul, Bunkie. I'll miss your ready smile and off-beat sense of humor but you are now safe and at peace. God bless.

As Dave's aunt and uncle, we have always been so proud of the boy the was and the man he became. After reading the summation of Dave's remarkable accomplishments, we are even more proud than we thought possible.
Dave was a beautiful, gentle person. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. At least now he has been freed of the chains of pain he had endured in his final illness.
May he rest in peace as he enters the loving, waiting arms of those who have gone before him.

Dave was an inspiring leader and a go-to person for all sorts of things. Most of all, however, I really enjoyed singing with him, and his memory will live on for me, in the tenor part of course.
