Obituary of Daniel C O'Hara

Daniel O'Hara, age 76, of North Cape May, NJ passed away at his home on November 1, 2009. When his children were young, Daniel devoted much of his time to coaching football and little league baseball in Woodbury Heights, NJ. He was an avid gardener and his home was on the Cape May Garden tour in 2006. He was also a mummers fan, sports fan, and dog lover. He enjoyed walking his dog on the beach and admiring various species of birds on the nature paths in the local area. Daniel was well known for his quick wit and humor. He retired from the General Accounting Office in 1989 and moved to the Cape May area shortly thereafter. Mr. O'Hara is survived by his 3 sons; Daniel & Michele of Pittsburgh, PA; Michael & Lisa of Moorestown, NJ; and Brian & Summer of Kansas City, MO. He was also blessed with 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and many good friends including Art Schuster of Cape May and Charlotte Ryan of Pitman, NJ. There will be a memorial service at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ. Friends may call from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Daniel's name may be made to The Guide Dogs of America, 13445 Glenoaks Lane, Sylmar, CA 91342; or the Holy Redeemer Hospice, 1801 Route 9, Swainton, NJ 08210.
