Harry P Smith, age 78, of North Cape May passed away at the Cape Regional Medical Center on Sunday, October 25, 2009. Born in Erma, he was raised in Gloucester County; but moved back to this area in 1978. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. Harry was a sales and marketing agent for Comcast in Wildwood. He became a self employed insurance agent and consultant for National Associates of Cape May. He also worked for the US Census Bureau as a field representative for 4 years. Harry attended the St John of God Church; was a life member of the VFW of Villas (playing in their dart league); and enjoyed playing horseshoes with his friends at the Erma Moose Club. He enjoyed all sports and even played semi-pro basketball. Harry is survived by: his wife of 32 years Carol; son Leo of Cape May; son William of North Cape May; daughter Cheryl (William) Gibson of West Deptford; and Patricia (Stephan) Grau of Pennsauken. Also Surviving are 8 grandchildren: Ashley, Robbie, Brigitte, Jenna, Brittany, Cody, Julia, Stephan , 5 great grandchildren, and a sister-in-law Patricia Miller of Green Creek. He was preceded in death by one daughter Catherine Reitz. Funeral services will be Friday, October 30, 2009 11:00AM at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May. Friends may call 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Friday. Interment will follow the service at Cape May County Veterans Cemetery.
