William J Torpey, age 59, of Erma passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2009. Born in Philadelphia, William has been a Cape May County resident for 23 years. He was a member of the longshoreman union ILA #1291 working in the Camden, NJ area and enjoyed spending his free time fishing. He is survived by: his mother Agnes (nee Falls) Torpey of Erma; his sister Eileen Mogey of Erma; his sister Nancy (Larry) Elliott of Deptford, NJ; and three nieces and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his father William Torpey. Funeral services will be at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May; on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 3:00 PM. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Interment will be private. Contributions in his memory may be made to the "Love of Linda" Cancer Fund at PO Box 1053, Wildwood, NJ 08260.
