Abe L. Scanlin, 94 of Villas passed away peacefully Sunday Oct. 4, 2009.
Born in Philadelphia he was a graduate of Temple Univ. and was a retired public school teacher in Philadelphia. He last taught at Lincoln High School. He was an avid churchgoer and fisherman. He was a WW II, Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife Gertrude. He is survived by a daughter Martha (Thomas) Pollick and a niece Ruth Thompson.
A funeral service will be held Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, 11 am at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Road, N. Cape May. Friends may call Friday after 10 am. Burial will be in Cape May County Veterans Cemetery, Cape May Court House. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be sent to Seventh Day Adventist Church of Cape May Court House, 1 W. 4th Ave., Cape May Court House, NJ 08210
