Obituary of Alan Wade Christie

Alan W. Christie, age 45, of Lower Twp.. The Lower Township Public Safety Community is saddened by the loss of one of their own. Alan W. Christie went to be with the Lord on September 22, 2009. Alan grew up in Lower Township and went through our local school system graduating from the Lower Cape May Regional High School in 1982. During his school years Alan played in the school band becoming the drum major of the Lower Cape May Regional High School Marching Band during his senior year. Alan always had a desire to be a police officer, he was a member of the Lower Twp. Police Explorers as a teenager. Alan has been employed by Lower Township as a Senior Emergency Communications Operator for 25 years, assisting the public as well as police, fire and rescue personnel. Alan has also served the community by being a past proud member of the Town Bank Fire Department. He is a member of the Lower Twp. Rescue Squad. He is also a past Chief and life member of the Cape May County Field Communications. Alan was a fan of the Washington Redskins, he enjoyed fishing, visiting the West End Jetty at Douglass Park, and riding his all-terrain vehicle. Alan will be truly missed by his friends and family of fellow Communication operators and First Responders. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at ll am at the Seashore Community Church of the Nazarene. Friends may visit to pay their respects beginning at 9 am. Donations may be made in Alan's honor to the Townbank Volunteer Fire Department.
