Chestra M. Burgesser, 98, beloved aunt , died peacefully on Tuesday, September 8, 2009. Wife of the late Charles Elbert Burgesser,. Ches resided in Cape May since the 1970's. Born Chestra Michalak in Detroit in 1911, she married in 1937 and moved to West Orange, NJ, where Bert worked for Thomas Edison Inc. and the Voicewriter divisions of McGraw Edison. An artist at heart, Ches worked in ceramics and also painted, She loved parakeets, and taught several to converse in English, Aunt Ches is survived by her nieces, Susan Abrams of Michigan, Mary Louise Dixon of Alabama, Frances Mann of California, and her nephews Edward Sand of California and Charles Sand of Florida. She is also survived by great nieces and nephews in New Jersey, New Mexico and elsewhere, including Steven, Richard and Christine, and several great-great nieces and nephews.
