James Patrick (Irish) McManus, age 77, of Villas passed away on September 4, 2009 at the Cape Regional Medical Center. Born in Philadelphia, he was 30 year resident of Cape May County. James was a twenty veteran of the Philadelphia Police Department, and worked in security for the Harrah's Marina Casino for ten years. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of St Raymond's Church, the Villas Fishing Club, and the Villas Elks Club. James is survived by his wife of 42 years, Margaret (nee Payne); his son Tom (Theresa) Malatesta of Philadelphia; his daughter Peggy Malatesta (Tom Queroli) of Philadelphia; two grand daughters Jennifer Johnson (EJ) & Amanda Malatesta; and a great grandaughter Alex Johnson. He is also survived by a sister Mary (Anthony) Saraceni of Glenolden, PA; and several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, 9/12/09, at 11 am at St Raymond's Church in Villas. A viewing will be held at the Evoy Funeral Home in North Cape May on Friday, 9/11/09, from 7 pm to 9 pm; and again on Saturday 9/12/09 from 9:30 to 10:30 am.
