William W. Hodsden, age 83, of Cold Spring died on July 24, 2009 at his home. He was born in Portsmouth, VA. He was an area resident here since 1967. He served in the U. S. Navy during WW II, where he was wounded in action, receiving the Purple Heart and in the U. S. Coast Guard, retiring after 27 years, 3 months and 9 days of active service, in 1974. He worked at the Coast Guard Base in Cape May as a civilian employee from 1976 until his retirement in 1997. He was the former owner/operator of the Chateau Motel in North Wildwood for 13 years. He enjoyed travel, gardening and cruising. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Anna; three sons, William (Connie) of N. Cape May, Michael (Kumiko) of Cantonment, FL and Robert (Debbie) of Cold Spring; a brother, Wilfred I. of N. Cape May; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, 11:00 AM at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd., N. Cape May, NJ, where friends may call from 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Cold Spring Cemetery.
