Michael W. Sandman, age 25, of Philadelphia, Pa., formerly of Cape May departed this earth early Sunday morning. Michael was born and raised in Erma Park. He played soccer for Cape Express and baseball for Lower Township from the age of four. He continued to participate in sports in high school, but there he found his true passion in art. He was a 2002 graduate of Lower Cape May Regional High School. He received an Associate Degree in Film from the Art Institute of Philadelphia in 2004. He was a movie fanatic, loved skating, snowboarding, playing guitar and creating on his computer.
Surviving are his father, William R. Sandman of Cape May Court House, his mother, Nancy Sandman and Benjamin Bachman of Villas; his sister, Jamie Sandman-Carder and husband Richard Carder, Jr. of Laurel, MD; grandmothers, Marion Sandman and Helen Wyker; aunts and uncles, Tracy (godmother) and Robert Baumann, Robert and Sue Sandman, Richard (godfather) and Maureen Sandman, Betsy and John Way, Steve and Carol Wade, Chuck and Kim Sandman, many cousins, godson, Justin R. Hill; many friends of whom most were like brothers and his beloved girlfriend, Amber Brozd and their shared cat, Mirry. He was predeceased by grandfathers Charles W. Sandman and Emanuel Wyker. There will be a viewing on Thursday from 7 - 9 PM at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd., N. Cape May, NJ. Funeral services will be held on Friday, 11:00 AM at the First Assembly of God Church, 1068 Seashore Road, Cape May, NJ. Burial will follow at Cold Spring Cemetery.
