Obituary of Gertrude S. Hilvert

Gertrude S. Hilvert, 80 of Villas passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2008 in the Cape Regional Med. Center, Cape May Court House.She was born in Philadelphia, PA, and resided in the Villas since 1968. Gertrude retired in 2001 from Cape Saving Bank where she had worked for over 25 years. For the past several years she has worked as an information assistant for the Cape May Co. Chamber of Commerce Visitors Center in Cape May Court House. Gertrude attended St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in the Villas. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and she enjoyed traveling with her family and friends.Gertrude was preceded in death by her husband Jerome G. Hilvert Sr. (1990). She is survived by four children; Jerome G. Hilvert Jr. (Rosemary), Marie Haffner (Robert), Andrew Hilvert Sr. (Linda) and Tracey McKenna (Steven); a sister Sally Chipman; five loving grandchildren, Michelle Morgan, Holly Beth Hilvert, Todd Hilvert Sr., Andrew Hilvert Jr. and Breanne Jefferis and seven great-grandchildren.A funeral service will be held 12 noon on Saturday, February 28, 2009 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Road, North Cape May. Friends may call from 9 am to 12 noon at the funeral home. Burial is private.In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be made to the St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, 13 E.
