Edgar Woolson Raff, Sr. went home to the Lord on Sunday, January 18, 2009 surrounded by his loving family. Ed was born June 13, 1924 to the late Frederick and Edna Mae (Woolson) Raff in Fishing Creek. He lived in Lower twp. all his life and was self-employed. He proudly served his country as a Seabee during WW II earning the American Theatre Medal, Victory Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Medal. He was a founding member of the Pilgrim Holiness Church in Erma. He was predeceased by his wife, Marie (DeRenzi) Raff, great-grandson Dylan Matthew Carlin, sister Marian Marr, brothers Clarence, Erwin and Leslie Raff. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years June (Oakley) Raff and his children, Sharon (Keen) Palmer of N. Cape May, NJ Catherine (Terry) McDonald of Summerville, SC, Edgar W. (Marion) Raff, Jr. of New Gretna, NJ and Judy (Bob) Gillis of Villas, NJ, his grandchildren Edgar Raff 3rd, Daniel Raff, Rebecca Carlin, David Raff, Carolynn Hollenback and Beth Chace and 11 great-grandchildren. Also numerous nephews and nieces including Dorothy Smith of Arizona. Ed will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him, especially his beloved dog "Baby". The viewing will be held on Friday at the Pilgrim Holiness Church, 616 Shunpike Rd., Erma, NJ 08204 from 11:00 - 12:00, followed by the one hour service celebrating his life. Burial will be in Cold Spring Presbyterian Cemetery, Cold Spring, NJ.
