James C. McMillan, Jr., age 62, of North Cape May passed away suddenly on January 2, 2009. Born in Phila., Pa., he was an area resident most of his life. He was raised in North Wildwood and had also lived in Rio Grande before moving to North Cape May in 1977. James had been a firefighter for 26 years for the City of North Wildwood. Later he worked for the City of Cape May as Construction Officer, Fire Inspector, Building Inspector and Plumbing Inspector. He also had worked at the same time for Cape May Point as Fire Inspector. After that he worked for the City of Wildwood as Building Inspector and Fire Inspector. He also had worked for the F.A.A. in Pomona as an assistant fire chief in the Air Guard Reserves. James was a member of F.M.B.A. , Local 56 of North Wildwood and had served as a volunteer fireman for for North Wildwood Fire Co. He was a member of A.A.R.P., Retired Enlistment Association, Surfrider Foundation (as he was an avid surfer) and avid Harley Davidson fan and member of Harley Owners Group (HOG). James was an avid Nascar fan, a loyal supporter of Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. He was the beloved husband for 42 years of Connie McMillan, dear father of James C. McMillan (Jennifer) of Weston, Fl. and grandson Jimmy, brother of Patricia E. Little (Willliam), and Michael McMillan (Patricia), three nieces, Patricia Zitkus (Leo), Michelle and Anne Marie and many other beloved nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009 at 11 AM at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd., N. Cape May, NJ, where friends may call after 10 AM. Burial will be in Cold Spring Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be sent to; F.M.B.A. of N. Wildwood, PO Box 1172, N. Wildwood, NJ 08260
