Michael A. Mueller, 68, of North Cape May went home to be with the Lord on November 19, 2008. Born on April 21, 1940, Mike was a member of the first graduating class (1957) of Father Judge High School, Philadelphia, and graduated in 1963 from Drexel University with a degree in chemical engineering. He worked for Texaco for 23 years in various engineering and management capacities, including running most of the refinery at Port Arthur, Texas. He researched and wrote many of the position papers on the feasibility of off-shore drilling on the East Coast. He retired from Texaco in 1986 at the age of 45 and moved to North Cape May. Mike was a Silver Life Master in bridge, winning many tournaments, playing with and against many of the greatest names in bridge. He enjoyed fishing, snow skiing, gardening, and singing, being the leader of song in the parish in Illinois and also being in the Camden Diocese Angelus Choir. He was the president of the Cape May County Bridge Club for six years, president of Cape Wood South Landowners Association for four years and a Eucharistic Minister at St. John of God Church. He was a member of Stella Maris Knights of Columbus Council #3546 of Erma. Finally, he was the first president of the Cape May Singles Club (2001) where he met his beloved wife, Dorothy, the love of his life. Michael is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Mullervy) of five years and brother John (Anne), along with four nieces and nephews, Stephen, Elizabeth Sinnerard (William), Jennifer Cannon (Adam) and Gregory, plus three great-nieces and nephews, Anne and Joseph Sinnerard and Andrew Cannon. Visitation at Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd., N. Cape May, NJ on Sunday eve from 7 - 9 PM and on Monday at St. John of God R.C. Church, Townbank Rd. North Cape May from 10 - 11 AM followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery Cold Spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Father Judge High School, Rowland & Solly Rd., Phila., Pa.; 19136; or the Salvation Army.
