John R. Beckermeyer, Sr., 88 of, Phila., PA, on Tues. Oct. 21, 2008.
Born and raised in Quincy , IL, he enlisted in the US Navy and served 22 years including WW II and the Korean War. Beloved husband of the late Nancy (nee DAgata); dear father of John Jr. (Ruth); grandfather of Jonathan (Jackie), Brandon (Libby); great-grandfather of Ava Madonna; dear brother of Florinda Beckermeyer and Vernetta Rinehardt and preceded in death by brothers Harold and Arthur. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 am Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008 at Stella Maris RC Church, 10th and Bigler Sts., Phila. Private burial :Valley Forge Memorial Gardens.
