Mary Louise (Patterson) Fincke, 82, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, August 5, 2008. She was the beloved wife of the late Reverend Dr. George W. Fincke Jr.; She was a faithful pastors wife for 51 years through four congregations in Pennsylvania, California and New Jersey.
Mary was born October 14, 1925, in Haddonfield, New Jersey to the late Wilbur and Marion (Black) Patterson. She graduated from Haddonfield High School in 1943. She graduated from Moore College of Art & Design in Philadelphia, PA. She then worked for John Wanamaker & Co. as a fashion consultant and designer. She worked as a substitute teacher for Lower Township Consolidated Schools in New Jersey. She also worked for the Art League of Cape May and for Holy Redeemer Home Health Care. She was a member of the Womens Club of Cape May. She was an active member of Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church of Wildwood New Jersey. She was active in missionary societies and worked as a counselor with Crisis Pregnancy Centers in Chester County, PA and in Cape May County. She loved the Lord and devoted her life to prayer.

She is survived by fours sons: the Rt. Rev. George B. Fincke of Moorhead, MN; Timothy Fincke of Sarasota, FL; David Fincke of Hockessin, Delaware and Mark Fincke of Dennisville, NJ and one daughter Sharon Dorward of Allentown, PA. She is also survived by 5 grandsons Douglas & Jeffrey Dorward; Adam, Aaron, and Andrew Fincke and four granddaughters Kathryn Fischer, Emily Stone, Elizabeth and Krista Fincke; one brother Rev. Alan Patterson of Anchorage, Alaska. Her sister, Margaret Atkins and brother James Patterson predeceased her.
Service of Christian Burial: Monday August 11 at Covenant Bible Church, North Cape May. Calling hours 10-11 Funeral Service 11 AM. Internment following at Veterans Cemetery Cape May Court House. Burial arrangements entrusted to the Evoy Funeral Home of North Cape May, NJ
