Myer Mike Barris, 89 of, Villas, NJ, died Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at the Eastern Shore N. H., Swainton, NJ.
Born in Philadelphia, PA he served during World War II in the U.S.Army where he fought in European Theater. Mike was a retired patrolman employed for 27 years by the Philadelphia Police Dept. (1945-1972). Mike was a life member of the VFW Post 3725, Townbank, member of the Philadelphia Retirees and South Jersey Police Officers, Wildwood, Thurston-Elmer American Legion Post 198, Cape May Court House, former member of the Cape May Seniors. He was an avid oil painter, former member of the Moose Lodge, Wildwood, member of the FOP Lodge #5 of Philadelphia, member of the Shomrim of Philadelphia and the Disabled American Vets in Del Haven.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years Mabel(O'Brien) Barris and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 22, 2008, 1 pm at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Road, N. Cape May. Friends may call after 12 noon. Contributions may be made to:
