Clara E. Eckert (Mathis), age 63, of Rio Grande passed away on Monday at University of Pa. Hospital. Born in North Wildwood, she was formerly from Green Creek. Mrs. Eckert was predeceased by her parents, John and Anna Mathis and siblings Lois, Jack, Phyllis, Nancy, Stanford and Toni. She is survived by her loving husband, Mike; her children Duane, Walter, Charles, Edward and William (Stephanie); her brother Garry Mathis (Anita), sisters Olive Silversmith, Carol Permentier (Delvin), Vicki Keun (Mike) and Cherry Trimarco (Bill); many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, especially her loving niece Samantha Keun. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, being around her children and traveling with her niece. She had one of the biggest hearts and would do anything for anyone. Funeral services will be held on Friday, 1:00 PM at the Green Creek Community Church, Delsea Drive, Green Creek, NJ, where friends may call from 12 noon. Burial will be in Cape May County Veterans Cemetery. Evoy Funeral Home.
