Valletto (nee Ferguson), Lynda Faye (Dixie), 71 - Of Cold Spring, formerly of Philadelphia, went home to be with her Lord and healer on Friday, June 27, 2008, after a heroic battle with ovarian cancer. She was born in Benson, North Carolina, where she remained until moving to Philadelphia with her parents as a teenager. Lynda Faye was the daughter of the late Williard "Jack" and Mattie "Mae" Ferguson. She was a graduate of Frankford High School, Philadelphia, where she met and eventually married the one true love of her life, Daniel Louis Valletto, who ascended into Glory on November 24, 2007. Lynda attended Philadelphia Business School and then worked at Spiegel's. In the years to follow, she was the leader of Girl Scout Troop 757 and an active member of St. Bartholomew's R.C. Church. Lynda and Dan owned 'Danny's Tavern' for several years, and after selling that business, they purchased The Buckingham Motel, Cape May, which they operated for 27 years. She was an active member of St. John of God R.C. Church and the Legion of Mary, as well as being an honorary member of the Chamber of Commerce, Cape May. She enjoyed cooking for others, trips 'home' to eat Southern food, reading her Bible, skiing in the Poconos, spending time with her family, watching Animal Planet, and attending any event that revolved around Christian fellowship or praising the Lord. Lynda was predeceased by her parents, Jack & Mae Ferguson. She is dearly loved and will be forever sadly missed by her daughters; Denise Haywood (Kurt) of Erma, Donna Drew (Bill) of Marlton, and Deborah Pennington (Steve) of Cold Spring; grandchildren Joshua, Danielle Rose, and Robert, a sister-in-law, Dolores Valletto of Philadelphia, a niece Cheryl Trespalacios of Riverside and a nephew Joseph Curran of Philadelphia, Aunts Ruth Piotrowicz and Tina Solina, both of Villas and an Uncle, Lonnie Temple of Asheville, N.C.; She also leaves cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews, as well as many devoted friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2008, 11 a.m. at St. John of God R.C. Church, 680 Town
Bank Rd., North Cape May. Friends may call Wednesday between 10 a.m. -11 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in
Cold Spring Cemetery, Cold Spring. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lynda's memory may be made to The Lighthouse
