Obituary of David A. Evans

David A. Evans, Sr., age 84 of Warminster, PA, recently of North Cape May, NJ, died on June 6, 2008. Born in Pittston, PA, resided in Hughestown, PA, moving to Bergenfield, in 1969 then to North Cape May in 1982 and lastly Warminster in 2007. Husband of 59 years to the late Rosetta Evans. Son of the late Catherine and Albert Evans of PA. Drum Major and graduate of Pittston High School, Played Semi-Pro basketball in Scranton, PA, U.S. Army Disabled Veteran, having served in WW II in the European Theater. Employed over 30 years by General motors in Scranton, Pa and then in New Jersey Chevrolet Zone Office, Ex Chief, Ex President and Life Member of Hughestown PA Fire Co., Coach for Hughstown Little League and Bergenfield Basketball Team. Served on Church Councils for St. Peters Lutheran Church in Hughstown, PA and Cape May Lutheran Church. Volunteer Building Chairman for construction of a new fire house in Hughstown, PA, also for the new Cape May Lutheran Church. Surviving are a sister Isobel Coulter of Westminster, MD, children, Dorinda Holemes (Frank) of Philadelphia, PA, David Jr. (Linda) of Ocean City, and Doretta Lissemore (William) of Dumont; grandchildren, Julie holmes, Kerry holmes, Leanisa Evans, David Evans III, Kristen Evans, James Evans, Sean Lissemore, Brittany Lissemore; and great-grandchild Anthony Evans. Viewing Saturday June 14, 2008, 10 AM to 11 AM at the Cape May Lutheran church, 509 Pittsburgh Avenue, Cape May, NJ 08204.
