Obituary of Edward H. McPherson

Edward Ted McPherson, age 61, of Cape May passed away on Friday at Cape
Regional Medical Center. Ted was born on April 13,1946 in West Cape May to
Margaret Shue and Hollis McPherson. Ted attended Lower Township elementary
school and Lower Cape May Regional High School, graduating in the class of
1965. During his school years Ted worked at the McPherson Dairy Farm. He
was active in 4 H Club and played high school football. He also played piano and guitar during his high school and college years. Ted attended Panhandle StateCollege in Guyman,Oklahoma. He first studied agriculture, but left school and joined the
Navy, where he served in Washington, D.C. in the Pentagon and was also in
Ceremonial guard. He transferred to Puget Sound, Washington. After the Navy
he returned to college to study special education. He later was a tractor-trailer
driver.
Finally, Ted was employed by the Lower Township elementary schools,
where he was a school bus driver and instructional aide in the classroom.
Ted loved his students and school friends and fondly remembers his years
at Sandman School. Ted loved gardening and in Spring and Summer
he and his brother owned and operated Cold Spring Campground.
Ted is predeceased by his parents, Hollis and Margaret McPherson.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years Liz McPherson; a daughter,
Leslie Erin of Knoxville, Tenn.; brother Douglas and wife Mary Lou;
nieces Meghan (Paul) Donato and Melissa McPherson; mother in law, Roma Santaniello, brothers in law Scott and Rich Santaniello. A memorial service will be held on
Monday, 3:30 PM atthe Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd., N. Cape
May, NJ, where friends may call from 2:30 PM.
