John W. Campbell, III, born in Hackensack, NJ, died March 23, 2015 at home in North Cape May, NJ. John was predeceased by his parents John and Margaret (Toolen) Campbell. He is survived by his loving wife Diana (Dee) Clark-Campbell, brother Kevin Campbell, son John (Janaina) Campbell and granddaughters: Sophia and Olivia and a daughter Kim Campbell. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Harriet Fedakowski. Also survived by brothers-in-law Gary Fedakowski and Billy (Nancy) Fedakowski, step-daughters: Dawn Kervel, Kimberly (Brian) Reed, and Tiffany Kervel, grandsons: Thomas (Jessica) Guevara, Ryan Susskind and Zachary Nuchols, and great-granddaughter Rowen Guevara, Godmother Jeananne (Chuck) Mucci, niece Kristen Campbell and numerous other cousins. John was a graduate of Don Bosco Prep and Seton Hall University. He joined the Army Reserves in the Fall of 1964. A devout Catholic, John could be found on a Saturday afternoon in the third row, right side at 4:00 Mass in St John of God Church, NCM. He worked in North Jersey as an accountant and later for Fare Free Transportation. John learned to love Cape May beaches, fishing and bike riding, when his Uncle Joe opened the first motel in Cape May and his family bought a summer home on Delaware Ave. Later he enjoyed reading on the beach in Cape May and working in his garden, hanging birdhouses and feeders. John was a friend of Bill W. and a fan of the Seton Hall Pirates, Atlanta Braves, Boston Red Sox and Boston Celtics. He adored his three dachshunds Max, Moe and Minnie. He loved going to the beach with his granddaughter Sophia and had looked forward to swimming with baby Olivia. John was known as a good, quiet and gentle man who will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. Mass of Christian Burial will be 12 noon, Thursday, March 26th at the Parish of St John Neumann, St John of God RC Church, 680 Townbank Rd, North Cape May, NJ; where friends will be received from 10:00 AM.
