Obituary of Richard William Ward

Richard W. Ward, age 69, of Del Haven, NJ passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2015 Richard was born in Philadelphia, PA. , was formerly of SW Philadelphia and had summered in the Cape May area since 1989 before permanently relocating to Cape May in 1992. Richard served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War.. He was employed by Trump Plaza Hotel And Casino, Atlantic City, as a Surveillance Officer for 14 years and previously had worked for Acme Markets warehouse in West Philadelphia for 20 years. Richard was a member of the DAV, Chapter 44 in Del Haven and was an avid baseball card collector. He is survived by his wife: Yvonne(Jenkins) Ward ; three sons, Richard T. (Dorothy) Ward, Joseph and Edward Depiso; two sisters, Susan (Dorothy) Ward and Margaret Jillard; eight grandchildren, Danny, Jessica, Edward, Melody, Stephanie, Steven, Kyle and Michael ; six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Patrick Ward. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM on Friday, March 27, 2015 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd., North Cape May, where friends will be received from 10 to 11 AM.
