John M "Jack" Stackhouse, Sr., age 79, of Rio Grande passed away peacefully Monday, February 23, 2015 at Shore Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. John was born May 3, 1935 in Philadelphia, PA., but has been a Cape May area resident for most of his life. He was retired from the Cape May County Road Department, was a milkman for Abbotts Dairy in Wildwood, was a mason for Howard Forbes of Rio Grande, and was a former Wildwood Police Officer. Jack is survived by his wife of 56 years Shirley Stackhouse (nee Ritch) and his three children: Debra Stackhouse, John M Stackhouse, Jr., and Brook Blizzard (Charles). Also surviving are his three sisters; Irene Oliver (John), Flora Carlberg (Rodger), & Geraldine Leininger (David); his four grandchildren: Jonathan, Douglas, Lauren, & Dylan; and his great grandson: Nathaniel. There will be a funeral service at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 27, 2015 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
