Obituary of Nicholas F Marino
Please share a memory of Nicholas to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Captain Nicholas Marino, husband of Dr. Denay Marino, of Cape May passed away suddenly 2/20/ 2015. He had a zest for life and a personality to boot. Nick had various passions in his life including his wife, his children: Anthony, Nicky, & Mae, his grandchildren: Morgan, Anthony, & Brandon, his brother Anthony, his sister Arline, his nieces & nephews who loved him to the core, his extended family and wonderful friends, and his beloved pets: Zoey, Autumn, & Wyatt. In addition, he had a love of horses, the sea, and of course the casino. He was a great cook and an awesome artist, but very messy! He was born and raised in Camden, NJ and has loved being in Cape May County for the last 26 years. Nick was in the first graduating class of Bishop Eustace and went to PA Military College before it was Widener. Two of the things he was most proud of were training Thoroughbreds in the 1970's and obtaining his Captain's License in 2002, as well as serving as a volunteer fireman and a lifeguard in his teens. His stories were unprecedented. Somehow he knew someone wherever we went. Nick was preceded in death by his parents, the Honorable Anthony F. Marino and Mae Marino, his sister Francine Avena, and his nephews John Avena and Nicholas Tortu. He will be missed immensely. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Nick's memory to the American Diabetes Assoc., 150 Monument Rd, Suite 100, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004 or your local animal shelter. Family and friends will be received from 4 to 5 pm on Friday, 3/6/2015 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204, followed by a service from 5 to 6 pm.
