Obituary of Raymond J Velli

Raymond J. Velli, Sr., age 88, of CMCH passed away Monday, January 5, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. Raymond was born in Cape May and has been a life-long area resident. He was a barber for 67 years throughout the area and owned Ray's Barber Shop in Villas for 26 years. Raymond served his country in the US Navy on the USS Yorktown during World War II. He was a member of the VFW Peterson-Little Post #386 in Cape May, an avid golfer, and a member of the Wildwood Bowling League. He was preceded in death by his wife Jacqueline in 2004, his parents Enrico Velli & Virginia (nee Saracini) Velli; his daughter Doneen Lillemon, and his son Michael. Raymond is survived by his 8 children: Raymond Jr., Debra Douglass, Harry, Dino, Tracy Antrobus, Tony, Donald, and Ronald. Also surviving are his sister Josephine Coombs; his sister-in-law Charlotte Kepner; 23 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 12 at Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ; where friends will be received from 9:00 to 11:00 AM.
