Obituary of Stephen M Smith

Stephen M. Smith, Jr. ("Smitty"), age 72, of North Cape May passed away suddenly Friday, January 2, 2015 at his home. Stephen was born in Germantown, PA; but was a life-long Cape May area resident. He retired after 40 years service with Verizon (Bell Telephone) of Wildwood. Stephen served his country in the US Army during Vietnam. He was an avid fisherman and was a fisherman's mate on several charter fishing boats in Cape May. Stephen was involved with the Special Olympics Fishing Tournaments; was an avid fan of all the Philadelphia sports teams; and enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. He was preceded in death by his son Stephen M Smith. Stephen is survived by his wife Charlene Dupont-Smith, his daughter Denise (Mike) Moore of North Cape May, and his daughter-in-law Wendy Smith of N H. Also surviving are his 4 grandchildren: Stephen, Patrick, MacKenzie, & Jaina. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
